Toronto Winterlicious 2013 - Mildred's Temple Kitchen

This Saturday (February 2nd), my boyfriend and I went to try out Mildred's Temple Kitchen as we've heard so many good things about it from our friends. So we took advantage of the Winterlicious special price menu to try this place out.

When we got there, we apparently had no reservation even though we called weeks in advance to book. We felt that they probably put our reservation down for another day ==" Luckily we went at 7pm when the restaurant was just getting busy so it wasn't a long wait before we got a spot.

From the menu we ordered the following:
Starter: Lobster Tortilla Soup and the Shrimp & Crab Cakes
Main: Lamb Tagine and Pan-roasted Halibut
Dessert: Profiteroles and Creme Caramel

My favourite part of the dinner were the starters. They were delicious! The mains were not as yummy as we wanted. My halibut was a little overcooked and the Lamb Tagine barely had any lamb! The desserts were not disappointing. The profiteroles were delicious and the Creme Caramel was tangy and probably one of the best I've ever had.

We would definitely go back to try the MTK burger and get more starters and desserts!

Below are pictures from that night! :)

Rating

1. Environment - 4
2. Food - 4
3. Drinks/Desert - 4 (Would have given higher if it wasn't for the watered down pineapple juice)
4. Price - $$
5. Service - 4.5
Overall - 4

Overall, this is a good casual restaurant to go to. The appetizers we got were AMAZING. However, the mains were a little more disappointing. We would love to go back and try their burgers, which we have heard fantastic things about.
