The Lobster Review

We made a two day trip to Los Angeles in July 2013 and we decided to have dinner at a nice restaurant in Santa Monica. The Lobster was one of the top ranked restaurants on the list and it had a great view of the beach!

Although it was a little pricey, we decided to go for it because my boyfriend loves seafood and lobster. There was valet parking 3 hours for 7 dollars with the restaurant, which was decent as parking along the beach was extremely expensive. We got a table right by the window with an awesome ocean/beach view.

The environment was a bit more relaxed and service was wonderful! We started off with a Crispy Maryland Soft Shell Crab appetizer. It was one of the best soft shell crabs we've had in a very long time and was definitely worth the price.

My boyfriend ordered Butter Poached American Lobster and I ordered the Pan Seared Crab Cakes. The lobster was delicious and I loved the buttery and fresh taste of the lobster. The crab cakes were fresh and not too deeply fried. The avocado puree and fennel salad added a tinge of freshness to the dish.

We then ordered a warm chocolate cake topped with vanilla ice cream for dessert. The warm chocolate cake was rich and not too sweet.

Overall, we had an enjoyable time and was happy with the meal. It wasn't the best meal we've had, however, it was decent and the price was not too bad.
